For those of you havent heard, there was an earthquake here early this morning at 4:37 am, the center in Bellmont IL or somewhere. We woke up to the house trembling, and it was sooooo scary!! I was freaking out and Troy just said, "Its just a tremor, we had them in Japan all the time". sis ran into our bed, but the boys slept through it (big suprise). The girls felt it, but stayed in their room and didnt come in to see us. I was totally freaked out. It made the windows shake, well, the whole house, but the windows clanked, the tv and computer and everything was banging. I was waiting for the house to collapse! It didnt though! It only lasted a few seconds, maybe 20 or so, but it felt a long time. Then it was over, but still trembled a little for a while. Then we had to try to go back to sleep for one hour. It didnt happen very good! So it was kind of exciting and scary at the same time. I heard that it was felt up to Chicago, and Iowa and Indiana. I havent seen it on the news yet. I heard there were no fatalities, but a little damage in the center area. Some bridges are under question this morning in St. Louis, but I dont think anything major. Anyway..just wanted to pass on this exciting new this morning!
This was from the fox new st louis this morning
"A 5.2 earthquake centered in southern Illinois rocked people awake throughout the Midwest this morning.
The earthquake surprised residents unaccustomed to such a large Midwest temblor.
It happened just before 4:37 a.m. and was centered near West Salem.
The quake was clearly felt in Chicago, which is about 230 miles away. And residents in Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Tennessee and Kentucky also reported feeling it."
See you in two...
