This is the lastest on our kitchen remodel..its kind of been on the back burner....but still looks great!!

Wow it has been a long time since I've blogged....Well, life in the Troy Porter home has been pretty busy the last month. First, we had a friend come stay with us during a hard time, so we had her and her 3 girls staying with us, as well as having Brandon come and working on our kitchen. Then Troy and I came to Denver to get some more dental work...which was then followed by having Troys mom and sister Nicole and her 4 kids come to visit, as well as brandon returning from AZ well....so we had a housefull and alot of fun. Then Troy and I left to go to Vegas for a week for a work conference...I know, we have it so rough! I LOVE Troys job!! We met Nic and Casey there, and had a blast!!! We got home and were there for one day, when we turned around and left to Denver to visit Nic and Casey and family and get dental work for Spring BReak...yeah!!! So we are here in Denver now, and the kids are really enjoying spending time with their cousins and family. Troy and I got some dental work done yesterday, and tomorrow the kids are all going in for their cleanings and check ups...Sound like a fun spring break??!! At least its fun Uncle Nic doing the dental work! We are going to play up on the mountain today in the snow...I keep waiting for life to slow down, but am not sure when that will happen. Maybe next fall???

Kitchen remodel continued

Well, for those of you who dont know, we are remodeling our kitchen..well, we are expanding and redoing our kitchen! Brandon, Troy's brother, is here in town for a couple of weeks to help Troy on this project. He is the one that framed it up a while back and got us started on it. So here is a little bit of what we have been up to!

Here is Troy after taking out some of the kitchen cabinets and counter top to figure out how to tear the wall down and make the floor level.
Thank goodness we have so many kids to help with the work!! We also had Brooke's friend Kristen here and she was a great helper too! Troy got the kids working to take off the old slate that used to be the outside of the house before we enclosed the porch.

They have most of the slate off now, just working hard and getting off the paper and stuff. Kristen, Macee and Britton

Our little princess helper!! Macee LOVED the hammer and was hitting everything she could find. So were the boys though, it was fun work!!

So next they headed into the kitchen to take down the big...whatever that thing is called that took up space above the cabinets...they took down a huge chunk of wall... of course showing the beautiful wallpaper beneath...love it! not!!

So this is the view from the newly made hole in the wall where the french door used to lead out to the porch...this is the new part of the kitchen! See the new pretty windows we ordered and the boys put in in like 2 minutes..so exciting!!

This is the wall where the french doors were and are not now! They plan to make it an arched way, to match the one on the other side into the other part of the kitchen. You can see it to the left...

And one more shot from inside the kitchen showing how HUGE my kitchen will be!! I am so excited and happy for this...but hope it goes quickly!!! Great job boys in the demolition!!!

Macee called me into the kitchen the other day and this is what I found...I love this girl!! She was so excited about the message she sent me!!

Happy Valentines Day!!

Well, Troy and I got to spend the weekend in Denver with Nic and Casey and their girls. We had a blast, well, and some pain! Nic has been working on my teeth and got started on Troy's teeth. We are so excited to get some work that we have both been needing done! Thanks Nic so much for the great job and helping us out! So while we were there, it was Valentines Day...so us 4 had a fun night out. First, Nic and CAsey took us to one of their favorite places to eat, called Pappadeaux's. It was a seafood kitchen and had some AWESOME food!! Troy got fried alligator for his appetizer, yum! We all enjoyed shrimp cocktail, alligator, steak, lobster, mahi mahi, creme brule and yummy banana pudding. It was so fun and we had a blast. Here is Troy shoving a shrimp up my nose...just kidding he isnt. Dont mind Troys deer in the headlight look...he is just excited to be with his wife! hehe:) Troy being his usual silly self....

So after dinner, we headed over to Snappy Nails to have some funny vietnames gals give us all manis and pedis!! Our guys were all for this, and thought it would be fun adventure! We had a blast! We were all laughing like crazy, and the boys were being so silly.
Here is a pic of our cute toes after the pedicures...No I still havent perfected the uploading thing to get them in the right order!! Notice Troy, yes, he has GREEN toenails!! With cute flowers even!

Here are the boys out in front of the salon...we were laughing so hard we were about to die...plus it was cold and we had on flip flops!! These boys are crazy!

Here is another view of all of us, except Casey who is taking the picture! It was quite the show, we had us 4, and each of us had 2 ladies working on us, one on our feet, and one on our hands for our manicures! Some didnt even speak much english, but we did learn a few vietnamese words..it was a great time. Thanks so much Troy and Nic for being great sports and treating your wives to a great night! It was so much fun and the most memorable Valentines Day!! I love you babe!!

Happy 15th Birthday Disnee!!

Wow, and now its Disnee's turn. She's glad the one day a year her and Brooke are the same age is over! haha. Man I feel like I am getting so old...my baby is 15!! One more year and she will be driving!! yikes. Of course, I am looking forward to some help with the running around! Thats seriously all I do! Here are some things about Disnee right now:

1. Disnee is an excellent student

2. She is in Student Council at the High School

3. Disnee loves the Jonas Brothers!! Mostly Nic

4. She LOVES music all around

5. She is a good girl and makes good choices most of the time!
6. She is a great help to her mom at home

7. She is super cute and sweet

8. She is a slob! her room is always a disaster! where did she come from??

9. She loves the computer and spends hours wasting time on the internet..ughh!

10. Loves her family and is so easygoing

11. She is a great big sister

We love you Disnee and hope you had a fun day..well, she will Feb 28 when she gets to see the Jonas Brothers 3-D movie!! Happy Birthday!!

Happy 14th Birthday Brookie!!

Holy Cow...has it been 14 years since that memorable morning when I deliverd that 3 lb 9 oz baby girl 8 weeks early??? Wow! Where does the time go? I know its a day late, but my life is too busy...sorry. Here are some fun things about Brooke now:

1. She is a CUTE cheerleader!

2. She has all the boys in school chasing her(yikes!)

3. She is goofy and loves to make funny faces

4. She is such an amazing missionary and is inviting friends to church all the time!

5. Brooke is so pretty and growing into such a pretty young lady

6. She is a good girl and is a great example

7. She LOVES the Jonas Brothers!!

8. a Twilight Fan as well!

9. She is boy crazy!!

10. She is super smart and gets good grades

11. Loves to babysit

Off to the Mia Maid class she goes, and the church dances and eyeliner! yikes!!! Mom and Dad love you Brooke and hope you have a Happy Birthday!!
