Its finally Spring here!

Well, after a long winter...actually, not that long. Troy and I were just talking about how fast it went. But regardless, our bulbs we planted in the fall have brought us some beauty to enjoy in our yard. We are loving seeing the trees and bushes blooming and flowers. We are getting our "secluded" feeling back and almost cant see the cars driving past on the road anymore! Troy rented a rotatiller and got my garden ready and we got some things planted..yeah!! I am so excited to try again. Hopefully this year will turn out better than last year. Here are a few pics to see what we get to look at in our yard!!! Happy Spring!!

Congratulations KB!

Just a quick shout out to KB, she made the Cheerleading squad for next year!! Yeah!! She tried out on Thursday evening and was so happy to find her name on the list! Just wanted to brag a little and tell her great job! Love ya!

WE FELT IT!!!

For those of you havent heard, there was an earthquake here early this morning at 4:37 am, the center in Bellmont IL or somewhere. We woke up to the house trembling, and it was sooooo scary!! I was freaking out and Troy just said, "Its just a tremor, we had them in Japan all the time". sis ran into our bed, but the boys slept through it (big suprise). The girls felt it, but stayed in their room and didnt come in to see us. I was totally freaked out. It made the windows shake, well, the whole house, but the windows clanked, the tv and computer and everything was banging. I was waiting for the house to collapse! It didnt though! It only lasted a few seconds, maybe 20 or so, but it felt a long time. Then it was over, but still trembled a little for a while. Then we had to try to go back to sleep for one hour. It didnt happen very good! So it was kind of exciting and scary at the same time. I heard that it was felt up to Chicago, and Iowa and Indiana. I havent seen it on the news yet. I heard there were no fatalities, but a little damage in the center area. Some bridges are under question this morning in St. Louis, but I dont think anything major. Anyway..just wanted to pass on this exciting new this morning!

This was from the fox new st louis this morning

"A 5.2 earthquake centered in southern Illinois rocked people awake throughout the Midwest this morning.
The earthquake surprised residents unaccustomed to such a large Midwest temblor.
It happened just before 4:37 a.m. and was centered near West Salem.

The quake was clearly felt in Chicago, which is about 230 miles away. And residents in Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Tennessee and Kentucky also reported feeling it."

Pinewood Derby 2008

Well, last night was the boys pinewood derby. They were so cute and did a great job! They were great sports, as their dad let them make their cars all by themselves. As hard as it was on him, he let them paint, glue, sand and it all. They did a great job! They didnt win the fastest cars, but they did a good job, and they had done it all by theirselves. We are so proud of them! Great job! Below is the slide show of it.

My brave husband

Well, yesterday Troy went and rented a truck that had a lift so he could get up to our tall chimney to put a cap on it. It was just open to the house below, no chimney cap on it, and water poured into the house everytime it rained..which is ALOT! So..it was nice enough to get up there and close it up with some sheet metal and silicone to seal it up. Sis was loving the "Ride", as Troy took her ALL the way up with him! It was very brave of me to let her go..what a girl! Thank goodness no injuries...only a small scratch on Troy's cheek from the flying squirrel that came out of the roof and scratched troy, and "flew" all the way to the ground and ran off. This was actually on the other side of the house on the other chimney..it was hilarious!!! Wish we had the camera to send to funnies home videos.
