My brave husband

Well, yesterday Troy went and rented a truck that had a lift so he could get up to our tall chimney to put a cap on it. It was just open to the house below, no chimney cap on it, and water poured into the house everytime it rained..which is ALOT! So..it was nice enough to get up there and close it up with some sheet metal and silicone to seal it up. Sis was loving the "Ride", as Troy took her ALL the way up with him! It was very brave of me to let her go..what a girl! Thank goodness no injuries...only a small scratch on Troy's cheek from the flying squirrel that came out of the roof and scratched troy, and "flew" all the way to the ground and ran off. This was actually on the other side of the house on the other chimney..it was hilarious!!! Wish we had the camera to send to funnies home videos.

Happy Easter

Well, once again...it was too cold this year to have our "outside" Egg hunt. So...we had our hunt inside..weeee. The kids still had fun..and it makes us happy to see our "big" girls still participating in the fun. Saturday we had a very cold, but sunny day..so we just hid the eggs and had a blast. They then got their Easter Baskets from the Easter Bunny. Yum!! We got to end the Easter weekend on Sunday with Troy speaking in sacrament meeting on the Atonement. What a treat it was, even if the other speakers only left him 30 seconds to speak:) What a nice weekend we got to enjoy as a family.

Latest Construction

Sorry its been so long....Well, here we are on our next project of the"money pit", aka..our home. We decided to remove the french doors in the dining room, since you could sit down to dinner and look out the glass doors to...all of our junk! So, we took them our and walled in the hole. Here are some pics of the project. We still havent finished it completely, and will put up the final pic when we do...Great job Troy..you are so good at fixing our home up!

Jonas Brothers Concert

Well, last night was the night....Lee and KB each took 2 friends with them. We stopped off at a YUMMY restaurant called Lottawatta Creek..it was good. Then we were off to drop the 6 girls off at the Fabulous Fox Theater in St. Louis. They were so excited and silly. Of course, we dropped them off at the door, so this is all the pics I have..the girls have some more in the concert. They all came out with hoarse voices, but SOOOOO crazy! It was so much fun for them and just as much fun for Troy and I to watch them and see them enjoy themselves so much. We didnt get home until 11:30 last night, and its a school night...ugghh..but the girls got up and went off to school sporting their new t-shirts..Go Jonas Brothers!!

Busy, Busy, Busy

The new carpet..this is in the kids playroom, and the one under is the girls bedroom..Dont you love the green vent cover, it matched the green carpet great, but now I guess we will have to paint it! haha...This is the family room downstairs and the one under is Sis's room, after we ripped out the old carpet and before we got the new carpet..sorry this is backwards but I am still trying to figure out this complex blog stuff!

I feel bad that I havent been better at adding posts. Things have been so crazy the last few weeks. We recently got new carpet throughout our home, which included moving everything out of half the house, ripping up the old (50 years + I might add) carpet and pad..ughhh..and then having the carpet installers come and install half the carpet. After which we moved everything over to the other side of the house, and ditto..and then they finished all the carpet excluding about 7 steps before they ran out of carpet. No worries though, they finally found some in Texas that is currently coming UPS..haha..gotta love our town! Needless to say, it was a lot of time energy and showering to clean it all up and get it almost back to normal. Right after this, I, Melani, ended up spending alot of time in ER, Urologists, and GYN offices to try to figure out why I was in so much pain in my back. They finally ruled out kidney stones or infection, and think it was maybe a female problem..yeah...me. I am about back to normal, and feeling ok again. Whatever that is! We have had tons of days off school, due to holidays, and ice storms and snow storms, making the house even crazier than normal. Even today they canceled church again due to the snow storm. Crazy weather here, tomorrow is supposed to be about 50 degrees...NUTS!

Happy 13th KB, and Happy 14th Lee!!

On February 4, it was KB's 13th birthday, and February 5, it was Lee's 14th birthday...whew..what a crazy time of year it is at our house! The girls had to settle without having a birthday party this year..poor things, all they got was......

Jonas Brother's Tickets!!!
Spoiled rotten girls talked their daddy into getting them tickets to the show in St Louis in a couple of weeks. They are thrilled beyond words..Have fun girls!! We love you...
