Varsity-Here they Come!

Ok, so I have to shout........Disnee and Brooke made Varsity Cheer this year!! We are so proud of them! They had try outs last night. Both worked very hard and were not certain they would make it. Brooke had the opportunity to make JV again if she didnt make varsity, but Disnee wouldnt be eligible, since she will be a Jr...holy cow! But.....they did awesome..and made it! They were so excited! I have been worrying like crazy all week about this. Its scary when 2 of your kids try out, and you hope the worst scenario doesnt happen, one make it and one not:( They are so cute and athletic. I am so excited for them, because it gives them the opportunity to be an example to their peers, and show everyone they can have good standards, and be good girls, AND be a cheerleader!! So...now the fun starts...more money and time from Troy and I!! At least Disnee will be driving next year, and make it easier on us! Congrats girls...We love you and are so proud of you!

Mothers Day

So yesterday was a wonderful day for me! I was spoiled with flowers, cards, candy and a cake! I have such a sweet family!! My kids are so thoughtful and made me all sorts of sweet goodies and nice things. I am so grateful for Mothers Day!! We started off the day nice...sorry this pic is horrible....but we had Brooke taking them, and well, you know!! The kids woke us up to breakfast in bed for Troy and I. They included Troy in the celebration since his B-day is today..Monday. So they served us up a nice plate of eggs, ham, toast, blueberry muffins, fruit bowl, and juice! Wow it was delicious!!
Then we got to go to church as a family and here great talks about Mothers, and beautiful music. Our RS president even arranged to have all the women in the ward attend RS..putting the men in charge of young womens, and primary!! yeah!!! It was wonderful to get to attend with the women. We had a wonderful lesson and didnt have to deal with all the screaming rowdy kids!! We were all so grateful for the men for doing this for us! After church my family made lunch, and after our weekly crash course in scripture study (we are keeping up with seminary, but our weeks are SO busy, that we have to cram a weeks worth each Sunday afternoon) I got to take a nice nap! Then my awesome family made dinner. It was such a special day for me. The only thing that wasnt perfect was the fact that we couldnt be with our own moms. We truly missed our moms on this day.
How grateful I am for my mom. What a wonderful mom she has always been. She has always been one of my best friends. Always there for me to talk to. Always there for Troy and I in our marriage to let us live with them at times, or watching our kids all the time! We truly miss being able to be closer. I love you mom! Hope you had a wonderful day!
And to my amazing mother-in law....how blessed I am to have her in my life. she is such an amazing woman, who has taught me so much. Thank you for taking me into your family, and always being there for me. Thank you for bringing the most amazing man into this world and sharing him with me. I am so blessed. I love you! Happy Mothers Day!!

Our house-well some of it

Ok, so we have fixed up alot of rooms and gotten some new furniture for our rooms without any:) Here is our dining room...we FINALLY got chairs to go with the table we bought 3 years ago! We are excited! We also finally got this blue room painted, and the moldings done and painted..with the shelves put up! I still have to find some stuff to put on the shelves...still looking! This is another view of the dining room, with the buffet and hutch that matches the table. I LOVE this piece of furniture!! Pics dont do it justice. It is so beautiful.
Here is some more pics of the kitchen. It still isnt finished with the touches..but soon!

Brooke and Disnee finally got their room painted and they also got beds finally. Disnee has been sleeping on #10 cans and a matress since we moved in.....We went with the same blue as the bathroom, and it looks super cute for the girls. They dont think it matches their beds, but what do they know??

Disnee's bed and dresser. The dressers the girls have, are mine from when I was a little girl. my sister and I shared them, and they were white. I have had them for almost 30 years!! They are still in amazing condition! We just painted them black to match. We had gotten new knobs a few years ago, so they were still cute and matched!

Master bedroom..our tv and dresser.-dont mind troys mess in the corner of his weights and pull up bar..there is just no place in our room for them to look good! Our bed , side tables and troys favorite chaise lounger!

Macee got a cute bunk bed, with just the top part. She loves it! We just put her kitchen under it and made it a fun fun bedroom!! One side of the bed has a desk in it, and the other side has a few shelves. It has built in drawers so she really doesnt even have or need a dresser. So cute! It gives her lots of room to play!

The boys room still isnt quite done with the shelves up yet..will post those asap!

Stuff

Brooke had a home track meet this last Friday. She has been running for the Annies this year, and is suprising her coach at how well she is doing. Here she is running the 4x200 relay. She is a freshman and running with the high school relay team! If you notice in this picture, most of the other girls were pretty intimidating to Brooke, all these fast black girls, and she was very nervous!!! Here she is from across the field..she has such great strides and long legs! She has wonderful form. Her team took 5th in the invitational...which for Centralia its apparently pretty good. They dont have a very big or strong track team out here....its not big like some of the other sports. Man she needs a tan! Love you Brooke, now I have to get her to quit being a chicken and try the hurdles!

Jalan finally had one of his dreams come true...he is finally tall enough to drive the lawnmower!! Here his having a great time on it...
Dad has him working out there..not really, Troy already mowed the lawn, Jalan was just playing now...but at least now we know he can start working!

Flag Football

So this last Saturday the boys had their first flag football games. Jalan's was first. He is on the Chief's team this year. They are on different teams due to a mix up at the Rec Center..but the boys were actually glad. Parents not so much. First possesion, the Chiefs walked all over the Patriots, and Jalan even got to run in the first touchdown! Yeah Jalan!
Jalan getting ready to play some more ball. He was out there very comfortable and telling all the other kids what to do and where to go. We were very impressed with his comfort and confidence level. He did great, and he has a great team! Running the ball down the field. He is so skinny and long. He ran alot.

Here is Jalan running the ball again. He of course is the fastest kid on the team, and one of the best runningbacks. What a cutie

He played defense as well. Here he is getting this boys flag. With the tongue out! Their team spanked the other team ending up 40 something to 0. Great first game!

Britton's team is the Eagles. (his dad was happy about that) I loved this pic of his jersey..look how small Britton is..he is always one of the smallest kids, but usually one of the best one as well! Their team played the Giants...here he is pulling the kids flag. Britton played offense and defense.

This is a classic football look to me. What a cute kid he is! Britton also was very comfortable out there and having a great time. Knew just what to do and looked like a pro!

Here is Britton running the ball..which he did alot. The coach liked him as a running back. He was pretty quick for a little guy! The mom in me was getting mad at the coach..Britton would run the ball down the field, then he would take Britton out and put in another kid, and he would make the touchdown! Oh well, I guess Britton didnt care as much as me! Last play of the game, Quarterback threw a hail mary to Britton....here it comes...

And while I didnt get the shot of him catching it, he did..and ran it all the way to the end...until this kid pulled his flag right before the end zone.,,he was too fast for Britton..game over...bummer but Britton did excellent! They won their game as well..not sure the score. He has a really good team as well. Next Sat the boys play each other! Will be an interesting game!
